Tá thart ar 90 páiste ó Ghaelscoil Riada réidh chun páirt a ghlacadh sa mhodúl samplach teanga do Bhunscoileanna, ‘Cuir Fáilte Roimh Theangacha’ i mbliana. Bunchúrsa is ea ‘Cuir Fáilte Roimh Theangacha’ i réimse leathan nuatheangacha iasachta – chomh maith le Teanga Chomharthaíochta Éireann. Déanann sé iarracht aird na bpáistí a tharraingt ar éagsúlacht na dteangacha a úsáideann daoine eile ina rang ar scoil agus sa phobal áitiúil. Ghlac níos mó ná 1,200 scoil páirt sa mhodúl anuraidh, agus teagasc á dhéanamh trasna na tíre sna teangacha seo: Araibis, Sínis, Ísiltíris, Fraincis, Gearmáinis, Iodáilis, TCÉ (ISL), Seapáinis, Liotuáinis, Polainnis, Portaingéilis, Rómáinis, Spáinnis, agus Úcráinis.
Beidh páistí Gaelscoil Riada ag cur fáilte roimh Spáinnis i mbliana. Cuirfear an clár ar fáil thar thréimhse 10 seachtaine i rith an ghnáth-amchláir scoile.
Tá áthas orainn go mbeidh ár bpáistí rannpháirteach in ‘Cuir Fáilte Roimh Theangacha’ i mbliana. Tugann an modúl seo deis iontach do pháistí tuiscint níos doimhne a fháil ar theangacha agus ar chultúir éagsúla, agus cur lena gcuid scileanna ilghnéitheacha ag an am céanna.’ Is í Alison Weldon a bheidh i mbun chlár Ghaelscoil Riada i mbliana.
Sna blianta atá amach romhainn beidh foghlaim Nuatheanga Iasachta ina chuid den eispéireas bunscoile a bheidh ag páistí, de réir Chreatchuraclam Bunscoile.

Gaelscoil Riada will take part in the Say Yes to Languages primary sampler module this term. Say Yes to Languages has grown considerably over the past four years, with a total of over 1,300 schools and their pupils taking part throughout this time. The module offers an introduction into a variety of modern foreign languages (MFL) as well as Irish Sign Language (ISL) and seeks to raise awareness among pupils of the languages spoken in their school environment and local community. Over 1,200 primary schools took part last year, with Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Irish Sign Language (ISL), Japanese, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian being taught in classrooms across the country.
Pupils from Gaelscoil Riada will be saying Sí to Spanish. The programme will be delivered within the normal school timetable over a ten-week period.
Learning a Modern Foreign Language will form part of the primary school experience for pupils over the coming years, in line with the Primary Curriculum Framework. With this in mind, we are thrilled that our pupils are participating in the ‘Say Yes to Languages’ programme this year. This module offers a fantastic opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of different languages and cultures while also enhancing their transversal skills. This year’s tutor will be Alison Weldon.
